I've made a small mistake.

When someone told me this week's new games were packed with action, I assumed I'd be watching safely from the sidelines.

Instead, I've found myself in a dusty duel, wandered into a Roman arena, stumbled across a battlefield and somehow ended up in the Wild West.

So much for a quiet week.

This time, I've rounded up five new games connected by battles, duels and larger-than-life showdowns. The settings couldn't be more different, but each one brings a little action and adventure to our latest arrivals.

After seeing the title Dusty Duel, naturally I went looking for the safest seat in the saloon.

Adventure is wonderful.

From dusty streets to ancient Rome - because apparently my travel itinerary was organised by someone who doesn't believe in relaxing.

Colosseum Clash from OneTouch transports this week's action into the arena.

Gladiators, ancient Rome and epic clashes make this a natural fit for our battle-themed parade, but it also shows how differently games can approach the same broad idea.

Well, I survived.

Just.

Five games. Five very different showdowns.

And after a month of cascades, clusters, Hold & Win action, gods, mummies, buffalo and battles, I think I've earned a nice quiet cup of tea.
